I was reminded of that time in the early 90s when I lived with 8 people in a three bedroom walk up apartment. I lived in the dining room. I had my area sectioned off with a drape hung from a rope. Frankly, I think I had the best space because the dining room windows had stained glass accents. Tonight I was watching a YouTube video about a trend in New York City (and perhaps elsewhere?) with something similar. People are slicing up tiny apartments into smaller spaces by building temporary “flex walls”. They’re similar to office cubicle style walls with doors. They only rise up six feet or so and don’t go all the way to the ceiling. We could have used these back in the day, but they hadn’t been invented yet!
