I drank this 10 mg THC raspberry juice seltzer last night – but I only drank half of it because I’m a wimp. I even precisely measured out the ounces in a measuring cup. As one does. It was delicious! It’s made with real raspberry juice. I felt like nothing was happening at first when Mr. K and I were watching a movie – more on that later. But then after he left, things got real loopey. I was wandering around Nappy Knolls for like an hour trying to figure out how to brush my teeth. I kept getting distracted by things or thoughts. I slept like a corpse and feel brand new today. I think the THC cured me of the covid. And no hangover today! I always toy with weed being my drug of choice instead of booze. My old body doesn’t enjoy booze the way it used to, and I rarely drink anymore. Maybe once a month? But I’m kinda nervous about what my best dosage should be. I like a buzz but don’t want to wake up in another country, ya feel me? I think 5 mg is my sweet spot.
I was reading an article about Oscar nominated movies and created my annual list of movies to see. As one does. I’m sure Miss Amy is all over hers. There are only two this year that caught my eye – Sinners and Bugonia. I’ll put their trailers below for y’all.
Sinners is a gorgeous Spielberg-esque Jim Crow-era period piece – think Color Purple – set in Mississippi about two black gangster men who return to their hometown from Chicago with lots of cash and decide to open a juke joint in the heart of KKK country. And they’re twins played by the same actor. And there are vampires. And the movie kinda breaks into being a musical at times. It’s kinda wild! I recommend it. And it’s streaming for free on Prime right now.
Bugonia – which we haven’t watched yet – is a scifi / psychological thriller about whackjob conspiracy theorists who kidnap a woman they suspect is an alien disguised as a human. The lead is played by the ethereal Emma Stone who can do no wrong by me. She seems to work in the strangest, most out-there films that stick to you. Such a talent! It’s getting rave reviews, and I keep seeing ads for it.
