I realized recently when watching some educational videos that I’ve never read an Agatha Christie mystery novel. That seems like something everyone needs to do at one point or another. So I dropped this into my kindle library for later use.

This cheapie tiny hearing-aid-like single bluetooth earbud is one of my best tech purchases ever. I use it all the time when I need to listen to webinars or meetings. Also my eyes feel like two piss holes in a snowbank from sleeping for two days.

I switched off the Roth retirement investments and reverted back to all pre-tax traditional deductions. It doesn’t make sense to lose $600 a month now in taxes when I am trying to accumulate a savings cushion in my earnings years. I need that $600 a month for booze! There is so much conflicting messaging on Roth accounts, that I honestly have no idea if I’ll even need to worry about them at all at my level of retirement savings. In the meantime, I’m going to continue to do what I’ve been doing successfully for centuries and not make any additional changes.

Laying in bed dying for two days is good for my waistline! Lost three pounds. Woot! probably because the cold pills give me the splatz. Shart week! Call it in!

I’m pretty sure I had covid for the first time in herstory. Or at least the first documented case. I took a test – a very old expired test! – and it came back faintly positive. I was stay-in-bed-for-two-days sick. I’m feeling 80% better today. I’m still taking the dayquill pills. But I’m weening myself off. I’m down to one every three hours. I think I’ll be brand new by Sunday. I’m headed to the office today. I’m behind, and we are busy. It’s Friday so no one will be around. And I’m not much symptomatic now. I only feel like I’ve been run over by a bus. Mr. K has been checking in but has stayed away. In fact, I don’t think I’ve come in contact with any human other than my office mates on Tuesday when I started to get scratchy. They seem fine so far. Hopefully I am the last person in my chain. And thank the lort, I’ve been nowhere near Mother since last Thursday. Perhaps I had a mild case because I am vaccinated for both flu and covid every fall. I blame Weezer. He’s had covid like eighteen times. He’s a walking Wuhan bio lab.

I very much hate this time of year. I think being trapped inside makes me ruminate on all the bad things that have happened to me in the past. Which seem to mostly have happened during the cold months of the year.

Hey locals? Rising crust digiorno pizzas are on sale at BigM for $3.99. Wow! I was tempted to clear them out. I know it’s garbage food, but it’s like three meals for me. And they’re usually more than twice that. Health kick!

It briefly got so sunny that I actually heard my heat click off momentarily. Season of miracles!

Ruh roh! Bakery news.

Even though I’m rotting away sick, I’m having fun and being artistic today.

I tried to do my thirty minute reading task and this happened. WTH?

We’ve reached that fun time of year where my heat is on full blast but cannot keep up with the cold temps. Cut to me walking around my house like an Oompa Loompa in six layers of sweats, wool socks, and a cap. Say goodbye to my bank account.

I tried to watch a movie but am too hopped up on drugs to pay that much attention. I’ve been napping or fiddling with my computer all day. I did shower but put my pajamas back on. I’m moving very slow and think I’ll need to call out sick again tomorrow.

I literally have four comforters on my bed and just took enough dope to knock out an elephant. Bye!

I was watching a clip about how the history of human clothing is tied to the evolution of body lice. And now I’m fascinated but feel icky.

A head cold has hit me like a ton of bricks today. It started as a tickle in my throat this morning and by 4 o’clock, I was a mess. I think I’m gonna have to call out sick for the first time in like a decade. It’s that bad.

Whoah! I switched all my retirement contributions from pre-tax to Roth (post-tax) and my take-home pay declined by what will be a projected $8,318 per year due to increased tax withholding. What in the fresh hell!? Part of me is tempted to switch it back. The other part of me says eat the taxes now. I’ll continue to monitor the situation.

I’m rethinking how I approach my YouTube channel experiment. It’s an experiment. As I learn new things, I’ll tweak the sauce. Making frequent one minutes shorts / reels is time consuming. The views surge quickly to 1,000-2,000 then drop off to nothing. Id rather make less frequent, evergreen, long form content that is searchable and informative. I’m going to focus on that for a bit and see how the algos like it.

I noticed at the Texas Roadhouse that they have a sign that says they must ID anyone born after 1/19/2005. And flipped a table.
