Fun! But it’s a bit too gusty, and the kite won’t stay up and steady for more than a few minutes.

At park. About to fly my kite. For real! And maybe read my book if I don’t get too cold.
I was reading somewhere recently that folks younger than Gen X don’t own home printers. Huh? I own three, I’m extra. I’ve been thinking about doing some paper crafting projects. I’ve missed the quality of a laser printer, so I just bought a new one. Shh! Don’t tell Mr. K! Yes, I know they’re expensive and the toner is absolutely outrageous. But you can’t deny the superior print quality. Ai told me that this model is the best for my needs – affordable, quality output for crafting, duplex, and handles thick card stock easily. I was beating myself up about spending $350, but meh? I’m worth it and deserve joy, right? My Econtank inkjet printers are getting long-in-the-tooth, and the quality is just not there. I’ll continue to use them for black-and-white printing for years-and-years on the ink I’ve got. I have a ton in the tanks of black ink. But the color prints are simply not that great for making paper crafts. They are now about four years old and were also around $350 each. In the last year or so, the quality has been degrading. The printer heads are not functioning optimally, and there’s no way to get under-the-hood and clean them. I’ve tried. I run the alignment and hot clean cycles, but those don’t improve the quality much. I think I deserve a new fancy laser printer every decade or so.
I bought a $4 kite. Just because. #ImWorthIt
My new iron-on arrived. Unfortunately the iron decided that today was the day to die. It has had a long and useful life. The indicator panel which controls the heat has blinked out. When you plug it in, it just gets hotter and hotter, smells like fire, and the plug feels very hot. It doesn’t seem safe so going into the trash.
Out and aboot. Mr. K is taking a day trip to NYC to take his dad to a baseball game today. I’m gonna take Mother shopping.
Don’t be jealous of my pornstache.
Ok!
So good! I cannot put it down. Monster as protagonist is my absolute fave genre! #ICanRelate

My shiny new lawnmower blast window guards are being tested by the building people today. We’ll see how it goes with their back-and-forth an inch from my windows all day long. In unrelated news, since I yanked all the aggressive investments and put dough into quiet boring non-risky funds, growth has exploded. What the hell is going on? I didn’t expect that. I thought growth would grind to a halt – but that I would also not be exposed to a big loss if the market tanked. I don’t think the stock market makes much sense anymore. But I’m not complaining. My investment mix used to be nearly all equities. Now, I’ve dialed that back to have 50% in cash and bonds. My advisor guy told me that I’m nuts and this is way too conservative for my age. But it’s still growing like crazy, so meh? I’m fine with slow and steady wins the race.
